Join me in the collective known as The Chicory Project in a hands-on workshop exploring Chicory, Baltimore city's longest-running community literary magazine, where Baltimore residents once shared unfiltered stories of everyday life. Led by members of the Chicory Revitalization Project, participants will engage in blackout poetry, visual mapping, and other creative activities that connect past and present, uncover hidden histories and reimagine new visions of the city together.
Part of the Being Human Festival (US) (April 17-May 3), this event is one of 23 nationwide programs supported by the National Humanities
Center, celebrating how the humanities help us better understand ourselves, each other, and the world we live in. Learn more about the festival here.
Come celebrate the publication of a new book I'm in along with other amazing writers, educators and students on their work on the Chicory Revitalization Project. Register for the Zoom Link Below.
The book, Baltimore's Black Arts Then & Now: Behind the Scenes of a Collaborative Public Humanities Project is available for purchase at Red Emmas Bookstore and also here.
